I have worked in the charity sector for over 10 years, starting out in a small community-based organisation supporting at-risk women and girls in south London, many of whom were from refugee and migrant backgrounds. From there I moved into the International Development sector, working on a programme supporting women entrepreneurs in low- and middle-income countries to scale up their businesses. I have also worked with Age International in their programme funding team, supporting the Middle East and Central Asia country offices to develop project proposals, as well as advising on UN agency funding opportunities. I have spent time living and working in rural South Africa and have seen the challenges facing small-scale producers first hand, and I look forward to taking up this new role at GALVmed to support SSPs to improve their livelihoods.
My main interests include the small and very spirited working cocker spaniel I co-parent, travelling to faraway places and experiencing new cultures as much as I can, live music, spending time in nature, climbing the odd hill, reading books and hanging out with family and friends.
