Request for Proposals
GALVmed invites proposals to enable two Quality Control Laboratories in Africa (one for Eastern and Southern Africa, and one for Western and Central Africa) to carry out quality control analysis of veterinary trypanocides. This will provide regulatory authorities and private entities in Africa (e.g. farmers, veterinarians & veterinary medicines dealers) with a necessary tool to evaluate and control the quality of trypanocidal drugs sold in these regions.
This is part of GALVmed’s collaboration with the FAO and IFAH on the Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) of trypanocidal drugs. GALVmed’s support and capacity building activities in the QC/QA of trypanocides is part of an overall programme aimed at controlling animal trypanosomosis in sub-Saharan Africa as contribution to poverty alleviation, increased food security and reduced livelihood vulnerability of poor rural communities and livestock keepers. This capacity-building initiative is financially supported by the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID), through GALVmed.”
