Home News Press Releases Fact-finding visits to Africa

Steve Sloan, GALVmed’s Chief Executive, completed fact-finding visits to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania in October 2007 to discuss infect and treatment methodologies for East Coast fever (ECF). Mr Sloan was accompanied by Professor Andy Peters, Arpexas consultant expert on vaccination production, Dr Hamed Nuru, Director of Partnerships for African Union/Interafrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU/IBAR) and Gil Domingue, GALVmed’s Research and Development Manager.

The group met with veterinary services and regulatory authorities in each country, all of which are affected by ECF, to present a registration dossier. This is aimed at ensuring that a new licence holder can be established in East Africa for sustainable products and supplies of ECF vaccines, the last of which were produced 10 years ago.
