GALVmed is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Karelle de Luca as Executive Director of Research & Development, effective August 27th, 2023.
Dr de Luca is a researcher with deep knowledge, expertise and connections in the fields of immunology & vaccinology. Curious and determined to make a tangible difference through her work, she comes to GALVmed after successfully leading teams and research programs in the Human and Animal Health Industry for over 15 years.
At GALVmed, Dr de Luca will lead the development of a new Research & Development program and be delivering the GALVmed R&D strategy which centres on providing technologies addressing real world animal health challenges facing small-scale livestock producers in the southern hemisphere.
Dr de Luca holds a Master’s and PhD degrees in Immunology/Haematology from the Université Claude Bernard in Lyon, France and is in the process of acquiring an Executive MBA from EM Lyon. She has previously held senior position in R&D at Boehringer Ingelheim, Merial and Sanofi.
GALVmed’s Product Development function harnesses the best available expertise and capabilities in academia, public research institutes and the commercial pharmaceutical sector to improve access to quality vaccines, medicines and diagnostics for the major livestock diseases impacting small-scale producers.
