Dr Johan Dreesen

Johan A.J. Dreesen is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine with vast expertise in commercial excellence, strategic marketing and international business operations within the Animal Health industry.

Johan received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with Distinction from the Ghent State University, Belgium in 1983. He holds a Business-to-Business Marketing post-graduate qualification from Stichting Marketing Brussels (1995) and an Executive MBA from the Antwerp Management School, Belgium (1996-1998).

He has decades of experience working in the animal health sector serving in various marketing and commercial roles, and in business operations for leading Animal Health companies such as Pfizer Animal Health and Zoetis. Before joining the industry, he worked in mixed veterinary practices in Belgium and France.

Johan now runs a commercial Animal Health Consultancy with a focus on Start-Ups, Animal Health Pharmaceuticals and NGOs. He is also a member of the Advisory Council to Kela Pharma, and a Veterinary Expert at the Court of Justice in Brussels.

Johan joined GALVmed’s board in March 2023.

He currently lives in Belgium.
