Dr Alice Banga

Dr Alice Hope Banga is a Veterinary Surgeon from Uganda. She holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from Makerere University, Kampala, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern-Central & Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI). She also completed a Dairy farming in Rural Development course with the International Agricultural Center Wageningen, in the Netherlands.

Alice has vast field experience in veterinary practice having served in the public service since 1984 as a Veterinary Officer in various districts in Uganda until her move into private practice.

She is the co-founder of ERAM Uganda Limited, one of Uganda’s leading distributors of veterinary drugs, equipment, vaccines and animal feed supplements, etc., where she is currently serving as a Director.  ERAM has been central to the implementation of numerous projects, including several past initiatives that were supported by GALVmed, in the quest to provide solutions for the small-scale Ugandan farmer.

Alice’s memberships and professional bodies include the Uganda Veterinary Association, where she is a member of the Executive and Treasurer; and the Dairy Development Authority, where she served 2 terms in 8 years, up to June 2020, as a Board member representing Uganda Veterinary Association. She is also a Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Kololo in Uganda. In September 2020, she joined GALVmed’s Board and she is a member of both the Commercial Development Advisory Committee and the Impact, Monitoring & Evaluation Advisory Committee.

She currently lives in Uganda.
