There are a number of areas of GALVmed’s operations where governments and publicly owned facilities and services have potential for improved productivity and sustainability through private sector alignment and input. GALVmed continues to promote the adoption of policies and practices conducive to private sector engagement and advocate for the adoption of public – private partnership models for product development and delivery of livestock health products to small-scale livestock producers in Africa and south Asia. Whenever possible, GALVmed deliberately aims to promote South-South collaboration in the field of livestock health. In policy and advocacy, GALVmed’s role is typically a catalyst, broker and facilitator identifying interested partners to lead processes and activities whilst performing a supportive role.
