My responsibilities involve the human resource needs of the organisation which include recruitment, staff induction, contracting, learning & development and the implementation of HR policies and procedures for both employees and consultants. I also assist our HR Director in HR strategic planning, involving employee engagement and international compensation & benefits.
I have worked with GALVmed since March 2007 and have watched the organisation grow from 4 staff members in Edinburgh to over 40 staff members worldwide.
I previously worked with the various departments within the International Organisation for Migration including the Bureau for Africa and the Middle East (working closely with UN agencies) in Geneva and then moved to Rome to work with the World Food Programme co-ordinating emergency food-aid programmes. My HR experience stems from working with various charity organisations locally in Edinburgh.
Qualified in Business Studies with Languages and an MSc in HR Management.
I enjoy travelling and learning about the customs of different countries. I love to soak up the culture of Edinburgh, visiting the theatre to watch plays, concerts and in particular, dance performances. The mix of travel and dining out also brings my passion for trying different cuisines, with Indian food being a particular favourite.
