I implement the Newcastle disease and Porcine Cysticercosis field projects in south Asia. I follow up on technology and product development needs relating to vaccines, diagnostics and medicines. I research the feasibility of potential animal health control tools in South Asia (Peste des Petits Ruminants, Brucellosis, etc.). I assist in other Research & Development department projects and manage relations with product development and implementation partners in South Asia. I identify and build relations with potential new product and technology development and field implementation partners in South Asia.

Relevant career highlights

  • Programme Manager, Heifer International Nepal (2008-2012): Using livestock for overall community development; women empowerment through participatory learning; facilitating training on livestock and poultry health and management as well as on social mobilization and overall project management in different parts of Nepal.
  • Veterinary officer, Government of Nepal (1996-2005): Worked in national and regional level laboratories as a manager and as a laboratory worker to diagnose diseases in livestock and poultry; investigated livestock and poultry health problems to plan prevention and control as a regional epidemiologist; as a clinician and surgeon in veterinary hospital; and as planner for livestock and poultry development.
