Oversee the shaping and delivering of GALVmed’s R&D strategy centred on sustainable technologies addressing animal health challenges facing small-scale livestock producers.
I am a research and development professional with over 25 years’ experience in animal health, agricultural research, and product development. I have previously served as Director and Chief Scientist at the Africa Technical Research Centre (ATRC), a multicultural joint venture that innovates and develops products for public health and agriculture (including for livestock diseases). As founding Director, I led the creation of the research centre, building of the team, and the development of a coherent and strategic R&D vision, which led to the delivery of a pipeline of new products through numerous academic and commercial partnerships. Prior to ATRC, I worked as a research scientist in animal health for nearly 17 years in well-established research institutions (former KETRI and KARI, currently KALRO).
I enjoy spending time with my family, early-morning walks, driving in the countryside and serving at my local church.
