GALVmed opened for business in November 2005. Since then, the organisation has played an integral role in increasing the resources dedicated to the development of diagnostics, vaccines and medicines to tackle livestock diseases. GALVmed is committed to advancing innovation in this field and plans to develop, register and launch at least four to six vaccines, pharmaceutical or diagnostic products by 2015, in aid of achieving the Millennium Development Goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger.
