Dr Roggers Mark Mosha
Job title: Project Manager: Africa Newcastle Disease Control
Role in GALVmed: I coordinate Newcastle disease control pilot projects initiatives under research and development using Newcastle vaccines which are thermo tolerant to suits rural settings where cold chain is not feasible through addressing all the limitation along the chain from producers, importers, distributors, retailers in Agro-vet shops to vaccinators and lastly to farmer’s door step/ chicken.
We are designing different approach per country and sometimes per project so that we have a real practical solution to accessibility and availability of Newcastle vaccine to poor backyard poultry farmers in rural settings of developing countries in Africa. I liaise with various partners in different countries in Africa and where cold chain is not stable. I try to develop a sustainable Newcastle delivery mechanisms in Project management and initiate and organising all partnership agreements and management of partners. I participated in the design and development of monitoring and evaluation for the pilot project and management of monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Relevant career highlights: I have had over 7 years work experience in community works/development and participatory epidemiology for community animal health workers in agro-pastoral and pastoral areas. I worked in north-eastern part of Tanzania cover the northern zone regions as community animal health and participatory epidemiology project manager and later as project coordinator for VETAID Tanzania. I supervised the Southern Africa Newcastle Control pilot project under ministry of Livestock as northern zone regions of Tanzania during research and development of I-2 vaccine and its delivery system to communities.
I worked as impact mitigation manager for HIV and AIDS affected areas while addressing the core problem of food security and income poverty using poultry and small stocks in our interventions.
Education: I Graduated from Sokoine University of Agriculture with Bachelor of veterinary medicine and later obtained Masters of Tropical Animal Health from Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp Belgium.

Interests: Watching football, raising and breeding dogs in Kennels, playing table tennis, driving and travelling around. I’m interested in visiting the most prestigious national parks and natural heritage as well as historical sites.
